COP 30 2025
The Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN) is actively involved in COP30, with its representatives participating in key events and advocating for Indigenous rights and climate justice. As of November 13, 2025, the IEN has joined the Hands Off Mother Earth (HOME) Alliance in launching a manifesto against geoengineering at the Peoples' Summit, emphasizing that real climate solutions must come from Indigenous knowledge and community-led actions rather than unproven technological interventions. The IEN continues to call for a moratorium on geoengineering and a just transition away from fossil fuels, aligning with broader Indigenous movements demanding recognition of territorial rights and the protection of ancestral lands.

The Indigenous Environmental Network is a member of the HOME Alliance, which has issued a manifesto titled “Home Alliance Manifesto Against Geoengineering – Our HOME is not a Laboratory,” calling for an end to large-scale climate manipulation technologies that threaten ecosystems and communities.
-
IEN’s leadership, including Adrienne Aakaluk Blatchford, has stressed the importance of centering Indigenous stewardship and rejecting false solutions like carbon markets and extractive industries, advocating instead for a just transition rooted in ancestral knowledge.
-
The IEN’s participation in COP30 is part of a larger movement where Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and traditional communities are asserting their role as guardians of biodiversity and climate solutions, with their voices being amplified through initiatives like the “A Resposta Somos Nós” campaign.
